What is treatment like?

 

Preliminary setup requires cleansing and shaving of the area to be treated.  The laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light.  Without damaging the surrounding tissue, controlled pulses of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the hair follicles.  The heat discourages and ultimately destroys the potential for regrowth.  Large areas such as backs, shoulders, abdomens and legs can be treated rapidly in most cases.  Facial areas such as the lip, chin and beard can be treated in minutes.

Photo Rejuvenation

 

  

PhotoRejuvenation or Photofacial is performed with a series of Intense Pulsed Light treatments that improves the appearance of rosacea, flushing, sun damaged skin, age spots, skin texture and photo aging.  The treatment also improves mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, reduces fine lines, and stimulates collagen production.  The average patient can turn back the hands of time.

 

 

How does the treatment work?

 

An intense light is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area.  Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation.  The heat impairs the vessel or lesion, and the body begins its natural healing process.  The lesion will darken before it flakes off or is absorbed by the body.  For optimal results, a series of 5 treatments are recommended.  Some clients see significant improvement in 2 to 3 treatments; others require more.  Follow up treatments may be desired once a year to maintain results.

Microdermabrasion is performed with a jet of fine crystals, which results in a deep exfoliation when worked across the skin.  Treatments leave the skin softer with improved texture and a beautiful healthy glow.  Tiny lines soften and become less noticeable.  Benefits will be noted after just one treatment, but several treatments may be indicated to receive the best results

 

Chemical peels & Micropeels...  Chemical peels help to reduce fine lines and improve skin appearance and tone.  They exfoliate the outer layers of the skin to improve texture.  They make a remarkable difference in facial skin appearance and can also be performed on other areas of the body such as the neck, chest, hands and arms.  These are a great stand-alone treatment but work optimally in combination with microdermabrasion or photofacial.  A micropeel uses a combination of a chemical peel with microdermabrasion to gently abrade the skin surface to remove the dead cells and uncover the smoother, softer layer beneath.  Refresh, renew and revitalize your skin.
